11 Years?

If Gilliam’s battles with Universal over Brazil are our yard stick, that’s how long it might take for American audiences to see Spike Jonze’s cut of Where the Wild Things Are in the form he intended.

By then Alexander will be a gangly teen yelling “You don’t own me, Mom!” while flecks of saliva spray from his braces.

Perhaps I’m being too optimistic seeing as it was 25 years between Blade Runner’s theatrical release and Ridley Scott’s “Final Cut” and 26 before an approximate version of Richard Donner’s vision for Superman II was available for viewing.
